How to Make Purple respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same from our users. This DMCA policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, in line with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The US Copyright Office Section 512 resource page explains the notice-and-takedown process in more detail.

How to Send a Takedown Notice

If you believe material on https://howtomakepurple.com infringes your copyright, send a written notice by email to howtomakepurplecolor@gmail.com with the subject “DMCA Takedown Request”. Your notice must include:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The exact URL of the page on our site where the material appears.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

After we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the person who sent the original notice. If that person does not tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material, in line with the DMCA process.

Counter-Notice

If you believe material you posted was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to howtomakepurplecolor@gmail.com with the subject “DMCA Counter-Notice”. It must include:

  • Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review complete notices and remove or disable access to the material where appropriate. Incomplete notices may not be processed.

Repeat Infringers

We will remove the ability to comment or submit content for users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.

False Claims

Please be sure your claim is valid before you send it. Sending a knowingly false notice or counter-notice can make you liable for damages under the DMCA.
