At How to Make Purple, we want every guide to be accurate, clear and useful. This editorial policy explains how we research, write, review and update our content, following Google’s guidance on creating helpful, people-first content.
Who Writes Our Guides
Our guides are written and reviewed by Zohan, the founder and editor of How to Make Purple. You can read more about Zohan and the site on our About page.
How We Research
Every guide starts with research from reliable color and pigment sources. These are the steps we follow before we publish.
- We use manufacturer pigment information and product data where available.
- We name pigments by their Color Index codes, such as PR122 for quinacridone magenta and PB29 for ultramarine blue, so readers can check tube labels. Our purple paint guide shows this in practice.
- We use established references such as the W3C CSS Color specification for HEX and RGB values.
- We check claims against more than one reliable source before publishing.
How We Describe Results
We describe mixing ratios as starting points, because results depend on brand, surface and lighting. We do not claim a recipe has been tested unless it has been tested. Where results vary, we say so, as in our guide on how to make dark purple without muddiness.
Images
Charts and swatch graphics on the site are created by us to illustrate each guide. Color swatches on screen are approximate and may differ from real paint.
Use of AI Tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, drafting and organizing content. Every guide is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by Zohan before it is published, and we take full responsibility for what we publish.
Reviews and Updates
Every guide shows a “Last reviewed” date. We review guides regularly and update them when we find better information or when product formulas change.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us through our Contact page or at howtomakepurplecolor@gmail.com. We review every correction request and update the guide if needed.
Advertising and Independence
Our content is not influenced by advertisers or affiliate partners. Ads are placed automatically by ad networks, and we recommend products only when they suit the guide. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
